2019 Maple Valley Days
Johnsons Home & Garden representatives, Brad and J Johnson, rode in the Greater Maple Valley Community Center truck as they were awarded 1 of 2 ‘Community First Awards’ this past March!
Community First Award
The award was given at the Maple Valley Community Center Benefit Breakfast in March 2019.
On behalf of the 50 team members at Johnsons Home & Garden, receiving this award has left us with so much respect, admiration, and determination to make next year, even better!
According to the ‘Community First Awards’ nomination form, this award is presented to an individual and business who have been recognized for outstanding community service to ultimately benefit the community. We are proud to say our store, along with Gretchen Wulfing, were chosen as this year’s winners!
To everyone who nominated our store as having a positive impact on the community, we could not have done it without you and want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Johnsons Home & Garden and its employees believe in giving back to the community. Together, we are active in over 100 programs that make a difference in the Maple Valley area, regionally, and nationally!
Once again, Johnsons Home & Garden has teamed up with our customers to help build the supply of food at Maple Valley’s own Food Bank of Maple Valley.
Thanks to Lisa Garcia, Johnsons employee who collected the most donations, we were able to raise $1500 this year (over double from last year). Johnsons matched customer donations dollar for dollar. In the picture, J Johnson, Lisa Garcia, and Lila Henderson (Maple Valley Food Bank Director). A VERY BIG THANK YOU to all our customers who donated and made this possible.
The Maple Valley Food Bank is a 501c(3) organization that provides food and emergency services to residents in the greater Maple Valley area. The holiday season brings the biggest demand on the Food Bank, as families struggle to make ends meet in this desperate time. Please help us support this vital service to those in need.
Johnsons proudly sponsors the Greater Maple Valley and Black Diamond Fishing Derby at Lake Wilderness Park in Maple Valley every year. The Hooked on Fishing derby is a long followed tradition to open the fishing season.
The event includes the family trout derby with prizes for almost everyone (derby ticket $2) and the tagged fish derby ($5 ticket must be purchased prior to midnight on Friday, April 26th). Fish school for young anglers 12 and under opens at 6am on the dock. Maple Valley Rotary also fires up the grill for hamburgers and hot dogs at 6pm Friday night.
